Rental Properties Taking A Little Longer To Rent During Coronavirus

It probably goes without saying, that rentals slowed down during the Covid-19 outbreak.

It’s pretty much impossible to rent a place, without being able to view it.

And if people do manage to get a virtual viewing, they still would normally like to actually view the property in person.

At least that’s been our experience.

And in addition to that, many tenants have been looking to view much further in advance than normal with very few citing an immediate need.

Usually we can find tenants for an empty property in a matter of days, whereas some tenants were requesting for July/August/September and one even asking for October.

We have no idea what properties will be empty then as tenants renew contracts and so on – it usually causes such a problem for everyone involved that we don’t rent so far in advance.

With the lockdown for Estate agents and Letting Agents lifted, we’ve seen some form of ‘normality’ come back, but viewings and enquiries are still down.

That said, we’ve still acquired new sales on properties, and found tenants homes, so the process of letting and selling is still ongoing.
